WELCOME to my ninth edition of Music Notes, which essentially is my Music Blog. Music Notes will provide more detailed information on my music, releases, updates or various musical articles.
So without further ado, enjoy this edition of Music Notes.
The Heart and Intent of this Single
When I decided in 2020 that I'd like this song to be my next release, I actually had another piece that I was working on. However, the words of this song kept appearing in my life and I became inspired many times to move this song to the forefront.
In January of 2021, I recorded the piano and then started working on the arrangement. Since I truly love the flute and piano combo, I wanted to feature a flutist in my piece. After going through a few flutist, I landed on the perfect flutist and sound for my project. After the flute was recorded and layered, I worked with another musician who I have used for my past projects and worked out the rest of the arrangement, adding the orchestral parts of it all.
When I sat in my chair and listened to the final piece. I literally was in tears. I was filled with so much emotion of gratitude and felt that this piece will bless all that hear it and that their hearts and spirits will be blessed and mended.
After working with my engineer for mixing/mastering, working with my graphic artist on the art design for the piece, securing licensing and sending it over to my distributor - it was finally ready and queued to be released to over 150 music hubs! My very first instrumental piece.
If's funny, most know me for being a singer/vocalist, but first and foremost, I am a pianist & arranger of music. There is just something magical about playing the piano and transforming the piece into a crescendoing full blown orchestral sound.
A little fun fact; the flute was my very first instrument (and then eventually piano became my main instrument). However, the flute continues to be my most favorite solo instrument of all. So I am super excited to be featuring Dario Cei (from Italy) on the Alto Flute.
It's my utmost hope & desire is that this musical piece will bless you and infuse in you a new sense of peace, hope & inspiration on your journey so that you will feel "raised up on eagle's wings".
Although this is an instrumental piece, this song does have lyrics (click here) written by Father Michael Joncas (composer of contemporary Catholic Music, best known for the hymn written in 1979, "On Eagle's Wings") The words of this hymn are very encouraging and will most definitely give you hope and peace on your journey.
